Thetford Mines - Christian Paradis, Minister of Public Works and Government Services and Member for Mégantic–L’Érable, today announced significant financial support for the Festival Promutuel de la relève de Thetford Mines street festival. He made the announcement on behalf of the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage.

“Our government is very proud to support the Festival Promutuel de la relève de Thetford Mines so that everyone can enjoy high quality shows, here, in Thetford Mines,” said Paradis.

The Festival Promutuel de la relève asked for and received $20,000 under the local festivals program.

On April 3, at the presentation of the 2009 Desjardins tourism awards for the Chaudière-Appalaches region, the Festival Promutuel de la relève de Thetford Mines received the award for tourism festivals and events with an operating budget under $1M.
