Every year, Environment Canada provides funding to various groups that strive to produce real results for Canadians and our environment. Environment Canada’s community funding program, EcoAction, provides financial assistance to local non-profit organizations for community initiatives that produce positive and measurable results for the environment. The program helps such organizations launch initiatives designed to improve air quality, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve water quality and conserve nature throughout local communities.

The funding for these community environmental initiatives across the country is provided by Environment Canada’s community action programs. Community groups are encouraged to participate in these programs.
